Warrington's England international Ben Westwood has signed a two-year extension to his contract, which will keep him at the Halliwell Jones Stadium until the end of the 2011 season.

The 27-year-old second-rower's impressive form this year earned him a place in the England squad for the mid-season Test in France and saw him linked with a move to rival Super League clubs.

"I'm going nowhere," he said. "I'm pleased everything is done and dusted and I've committed my future to the Wolves."

He added: "I'm settled here. The fans have been great with me and I'm looking forward to winning honours in the shirt in the not too distant future.

"Obviously I had another year to run on my contract but I wanted to get a new deal sorted as quick as possible."

Westwood, signed originally as a centre in a £60,000 deal from Wakefield in 2002, was Warrington's player of the year last season and has missed only one match this year.

Wolves coach James Lowes said: "Ben's an important part of our pack. His form, certainly while I've been here, has warranted him getting an extra two years with us."
