TOYOTA RECALLS ˝M MORE CARS

Wednesday February 10 2010

TOYOTA was plunged into worsening chaos yesterday as brake problems forced it to recall another 500,000 cars worldwide.

Around 8,500 Prius hybrids in the UK are affected by the safety fiasco now engulfing the world’s biggest car firm.

The Japanese company’s British arm apologised for the latest recall, caused by braking problems on certain surfaces, and insisted the Prius was still safe.

Eight million other Toyota models have been recalled globally – including 180,000 in the UK – because of sticking accelerator pedals.

Repairs start at British garages today, but many motorists will have to wait up to eight weeks. The petrol-electric Prius cars will get a 40-minute brake upgrade.

A Toyota spokesman said there had been no accidents linked to the brake problems in Europe.

NO PROBLEM, I STILL TRUST TOYOTA!

10.02.10, 11:56am

When a company admits to a fault and then puts right what is wrong, I have total trust in a firm that is more concerned about safety than profits, it would be more worrying if they did not admit to or correct the faults.
